The Chesapeake Bay Country Wanderers (CBCW) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting health, fun, and fellowship through non-competitive walking and other sporting events for everyone. We host between three and five weekend events each year and are presently hosting seven year 'round events.

Club meetings: Club members meet on the first Thursday of February, April, June, August, October, and December at 7:00 pm at the Anne Arundel County Police Station, Western Region, at the corner of Telegraph Road (Route 170) and Crossroads Drive in Odenton. All regular, new, and potential members are always welcome at the meeting. Meals are not served at the Station, but you may bring fast food, sodas, water, etc. The Station can be reached by taking Rt. 170N from Odenton or 170S from Rt. 32.

If you are new to the volkssporting experience and would like information about how to get started in volkssporting, check out the most interesting "new walker" writeup provided by Ms. Sonia Garcia, one of CBCW's club members. Then you should visit the AVA's New Walker Page at www.ava.org/newwalk.htm. If you are interested in joining CBCW, click here.

Atlantic Region Year Round Events: Rather than maintain a separate list of Year Round Events for the Atlantic Region, we are now directing you to the AVA Walking Events web page. A great deal of time and effort went into creating and maintaining the AR YRE pages, and the AVA pages have more information, often more up to date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we will maintain the list of AR YREs that can be reached by DC Metro. (Of course, the accuracy of this information is dependent on the clubs providing additions/corrections.)

No Free Events: CBCW regrets that we are unable to allow free walkers. All walkers and bikers over the age of 12 are required to pay a minimum fee of $2.00 which does not include IVV/AVA credit. If a fee is not paid, then the walker or biker may not walk or ride our designated trail as an IVV/AVA participant. The fee for IVV/AVA credit is $3.00. The policy of not allowing free participants is necessary so that CBCW can continue to recover the cost of its events.

Thanks: The author and CBCW wish to thank SGT, Inc. for their generosity in allowing this WEB Page to be hosted on their server. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions about our WEB pages, please send an email message to bguion@comcast.net.
