Minutes of Meeting

Officers Present: President, Ron Looper; Secretary, Dennis Lynch; Treasurer, Ken Wilson.

Committee Chairs:Jim Fons, Sanctions POC; Ron Bowers, Future of the Sport;
Rich Long, Audit; and, Bill Guion, Nominations and Webmaster.
Guests: Myrna Bowers, Fran Looper, and Rick Nauen.
Officers' Reports
- The President stated that a quorum was present.
- Minutes: There were no objections to the minutes from the August meeting at Rockville, and the minutes were accepted as published.
- Treasurer's Report: Ken Wilson circulated financial statements for August, September, October, and November 2004. These were approved as reported.
- Ron Looper stated that the bylaws will be up for review next year.
Committee Reports
- Sanctions POC: Jim Fons reported that so far there are less events scheduled for 2005
than there were for 2004. The YRE sanctioning by computer has been "reasonably
successful."
Again, please send Jim an email when you send in a sanction request, so that he will know
when a request has been sent to the AVA database.
Old Business
- The following motion, which had been tabled at the last meeting, was revived: MOTION: A motion was made, and seconded, that MVA donate $500 to the Convention Committee as the MVA's 2004 donation. A discussion ensued about our donations in the past to AVA conventions. The Treasurer looked in his records back to 1999 and stated that no donations had been made at least back to that date. The motion passed.
- The Nominating Committee reported the following slate of officers for election: President, Ron Looper; Vice President, Dennis Lynch; Treasurer, Ken Wilson; Secretary, Jean Gibbs.
- MOTION: A motion was made and seconded to accept the nominations of this slate of officers. The motion passed.
New Business
- Ron Bowers made the following motion:
MOTION: That the MVA donate $25 to CVC for their expenses in hosting this meeting. The amount was amended to $50, and the motion carried unanimously.
Comments
- Club reports were given.
- Ric Nauen spoke about the need for volunteers from the MVA clubs to help the BWC during their event in June 2005 as one of the AVA convention related events.
- President's Comments:
- President Looper remarked on the difficulty of finding a place to hold MVA meetings. He thanked John and Karen Dye for hosting this MVA meeting at their house.
- The next MVA meeting is TBD.
